MECUM AUCTIONS – KISSIMMEE 2012, Day One Update

- Day 1 of 6 is officially in the book

- Slightly more than 70% sell through rate with total sales surpassing $4 Million

- More than 2,100 bidders registered today alone with thousands of spectators on hand

- Today’s featured collection from Tommy Gibson sold at no reserve, highlighted by his 1962 Corvette Convertible (Lot G116) selling for $50,000

- #1 Top Seller, 1970 Plymouth Road Runner (Lot G237) with the fierce 426 CI Hemi engine.  This brute hammered sold for $90,000.- Other top sellers included a 1966 Corvette Coupe (Lot G30), 427/390 HP with A/C, power brakes, and more that sold for $54,000, and a 1956 Ford Thunderbird (Lot G201.1) equipped with a 312/245 HP V-8 and finished in Buckskin Tan that earned a “Sold” sticker for $48,000

- Auction action starts again tomorrow morning with Road Art under the gavel at 8:30 AM, followed by vehicles at 9:00 AM
- Live TV coverage on Discovery’s Velocity Network will begin tomorrow at 1:00 PM
